Every engagement — regardless of industry, size, or product — runs through the same four phases. No shortcuts, no skipped steps. This is what happens at each one.
This is Resona's own operating cycle — how we run every engagement, from a first conversation to a system that runs without us. It's the same structure whether we're building a consumer app, standing up e-commerce for a legacy retailer, or shipping a platform like ARC or Procurely.
We start with a structured discovery conversation, not a sales pitch. Where is the business actually today — technically, financially, competitively? This isn't a questionnaire, it's a working session where we pressure-test the assumptions you've been building on, so the plan that follows is built on what's actually true, not what's comfortable to believe. We map the honest starting point before proposing a single solution.
Before anything launches, we design the system: operational frameworks, decision points, and the strategic foundation the business will stand on. Architecture is not a phase we rush through to get to the fun part — it is the foundation everything else depends on. We map how decisions get made and where the structural risk actually lives, before a single asset gets designed.
Brand identity and product execution happen simultaneously, not sequentially — name, visual language, product positioning, and a finished product, moving together so nothing arrives out of sync. A product without a brand is just software; a brand without a product is just a logo. We build both at once so what you ship and how you're perceived are never out of alignment.
We install the methodology, documentation, and operating capacity into your organization so the system keeps running after we step back. This is the phase most studios skip or treat as a wrap-up — we treat it as the point of the engagement. You leave with a company, not a deliverable.
The four phases play out over a real, committed timeline from the moment we talk.
The four phases above are what happens to the work. This is what happens to you — from the first call to long after we've stepped back.
Discovery isn't a single call — it's as many as it takes to actually understand the business. Every conversation covers the same ground: how stakeholders actually see the product today, what they expect from it, the current product strategy, and the execution details that will matter once we're building.
While those conversations are happening, we're already working on our side — mapping stakeholder milestones, the essential functions of the current product, and anything else we need before proposing a direction. Discovery and internal mapping run at the same time, not one after the other.
Because discovery and mapping already happened in parallel, the proposal isn't a guess — it's built on what we actually found. Once it's signed, most engagements are on the road and actively building within 7 days. That speed comes from the work already done, not from skipping steps.
We ask about working preferences in the first several meetings — some stakeholders want a hands-off experience and check in at milestones; others want to be part of the process incrementally. Either way, we set the cadence around that from the start, so you're never guessing where things stand.
This isn't a straight line from kickoff to delivery. Each milestone — architecture, design, strategy — runs through the same loop: we build a piece of it, put it in front of you as an MVP, an iteration, or a deck, get your input, and refine. We repeat that loop as many times as a milestone needs before moving to the next one. Nothing ships to you once and waits for a final verdict months later.
There's no single fixed engagement length — every scope is different. What doesn't change is what happens at the end: a 30-day touchbase with a real person after final delivery, to make sure the handoff actually holds up in practice, not just on paper.
After the 30-day touchbase, ongoing support shifts to a dedicated support tool — built to keep your team on strategy, answer questions on demand, and give you a direct line back to us whenever something needs a human. It gets sharper with every engagement we run.
